This desk came to be after the clients saw a
previous hall table I had made and wanted to know if I could turn it into
a desk. The design led itself readily to the request and the results
more than pleased the clients. Made entirely of Sugar Maple with Blood wood inlays, the desk sports a center drawer as well as a hidden drawer to each side of it. The joinery is all mortise and tenon and dovetail on the casework, finger joints on the drawer sides.  The recess as seen above appears on all four sides and has small scallops carved into the surface. The desk was left unstained and finished with wiping varish. |
