This matching slat bed and side tables were created after numerous discussions with the clients and a request for something "Zen".

The headboard is 50mm thick solid Black Walnut with Hard Maple inlayed into the center of all the square openings.  The side rails began as square timber then were scalloped out by hand giving them a form all of their own.  The foot board is made of one single piece of Walnut timber inlayed with Maple stringing and attached to the legs. The slats and center support are made of hard maple.

Made entirely of Black Walnut with Hard Maple string inlays around the tops and side rails the matching tables have a slat shelf near the bottom as well as a full sized concealed drawer under each top.  As with all my works they are finished to the same high quality on all four sides.

All of the joinery is traditional mortice and tenon and where necessary, dovetail.

 The bed and side tables were all hand finished with Danish oil and Paste Wax.
